Family Search and Redeeming History

As of 29 Sept 2025, programs that can import and synchronize data with FamilySearch's collaborative family tree include Ancestral Quest, Legacy Family Tree, RootsMagic, and Family Tree Maker. These programs allow you to download information directly from the FamilySearch Tree to then load as your separate database on your computer.

By Human Race Theory, we mean the belief that all who live, have lived, or will yet live on earth are brothers and sisters, siblings in spirit; and all cousins in our flesh, our DNA, if not also children, parents, and siblings.

FamilySearch is unique in that it has a Family Tree for all the Human Family. This design is a blessing and a challenge. It allows you to tie into work already done on the tree and collaborate with others. It is also a challenge when someone makes a change that is incorrect or questionable. FamilySearch provides tools and procedures to manage and mitigate this challenge with collaboration. It adds ongoing improvements fed by user feedback.

Note that only you (or your approved family group) can see the living people you enter on the FamilySearch Tree.
